  • Blake Shelton was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2010.
  • Raising Sand, an album pairing Alison Krauss with Led Zeppelin founder Robert Plant, was released in 2007.
  • George Strait‘s “I Hate Everything” climbed to Number One in Billboard in 2004.

 

 

  • Big Kenny and John Rich joined two other solo artists to initiate the MuzikMafia shows at Nashville’s Pub Of Love in 2001. The MuzikMafia led to recording contracts for both Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson.
  • Barbara Mandrell staged her farewell concert, dubbed The Last Dance, in 1997.
  • Buck Owens opened his Crystal Palace, a club in Bakersfield, California, in 1996.
  • George Strait‘s “Easy Come, Easy Go” hit Number One on the Billboard country chart in 1993.
  • The movie Pure Country, starring George Strait, debuted in 1992.
  • Roy Acuff performed on both shows at the Grand Ole Opry in 1992, in what proved to be his final appearance on the program.
