Little Big Town’s family got a little bigger on this date in 2007, Kenny Chesney was enjoying “The Good Stuff” in 2002, Ricky Van Shelton was keeping it “Simple” in 1991 and more.

Here’s the list for Today In Country Music History for 27 July, 2012.

  • Little Big Town‘s Kimberly Roads and husband Stephen Schlapman had a daughter, Daisy Pearl, in Phoenix in 2007.
  • Shania Twain gave a free concert at Chicago’s Grant Park in 2003. The event was taped for an NBC-TV special, Shania Twain UP! Live In Chicago.
  • Kenny Chesney‘s “The Good Stuff” began a seven-week ride at the top of the Billboard country chart in 2002.
  • Ricky Van Shelton hit the top of the Billboard country charts with “I Am A Simple Man” in 1991.
  • Emmylou Harris went gold for the first time in her career with the Elite Hotel album in 1978.
  • “Ring Of Fire” earned Johnny Cash the Number One position on the Billboard country singles chart in 1963.
