Finally, a zero emission vehicle I can get just a little bit excited about! Mostly because it's only got two wheels and the four wheeled zero / low emission vehicles just don't do it for me.

I know, I know, two of my coworkers have Priuses ... Prii ... Ahem ... Two of my coworkers are Toyota Prius owners and they absolutely LOVE them. I'm just not crazy about the look. I want something that looks, well, normal. Or at least close. Something that doesn't scream out that I'm trying to save the planet. And this has been my issue with a lot of the electric, fuel efficient, or hybrid vehicles: they screamed out what they were, and to me that made them boring.

Enter the Electric Motorcycle from Zero Motorcycles. They come in several different styles from dirt to dual sport to street (my favorite) and are totally electric.

I don't think they're quite ready to take the motorcycle industry by storm as the street version has a top speed of 67 mph and maximum range of 58 miles, but hey, that'll get you around town for a day or two even without recharging. They also have the instant torque and silence of an electric motor, and they do look pretty cool. You can watch the video below to see what happened when Zero Motorcycles founder, Neal Saiki, took one to the track.

I guess the former Harley riders could put playing cards in the spokes.
