About 20 years ago eating sushi was considered exotic.  Well apparently our willingness to stray away from eating burgers, pizza and other standard meals has come a long way.

According to a new survey by the Travel Channel, we’re surprisingly open to trying some pretty disgusting sounding meals.  Check it out:

39% of Americans would eat smoked racoon.

33% would try muskrat chili.
(Which is like “Muskrat Love“, only with more beans and less Tennille.)

20% would try a pig ear sandwich.

18% would eat guinea pig.

17% would try possum fajitas.

6% would try lamb brains.

And finally, in a tie for last place,

5% would try either duck testicles or cow placenta.

As a bonus, the poll also asked the question which celebrity would most likely eat roadkill?

37% said Charlie Sheen

27% said Ashton Kutcher

20% said Roseanne Barr

4% said Britney Spears

I guess that goes to show the standards that these celebs have set for themselves in the public eye, now doesn’t it?

But maybe they didn’t ask the right people. Here’s your chance to answer the questions:
