Willie Nelson Makes Trouble, Rascal Flatts Was There – Today In Country Music History

  • Rascal Flatts‘ “Take Me There,” written by Kenny Chesney, climbed to Number One on the Billboard country singles chart in 2007.
  • Keith Urban‘s Golden Road album was certified triple-platinum in 2005.
  • Cyndi Thomson scored her first and only Number One single before retiring with “What I Really Meant to Say” in 2001.
  • Dolly Parton, Johnny Bond and Conway Twitty were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999.
  • Garth BrooksThe Chase album was released in 1992.
  • Alabama‘s “High Cotton” peaked at Number One in 1989.

 

 

  • Willie Nelson sponsored the first Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois in 1985 with Merle Haggard, John Cougar Mellencamp, Roger Miller, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Alabama, George Jones, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, B.B. King, Judy Rodman and Waylon Jennings, among others.
  • Willie Nelson‘s The Troublemaker album was released in 1976.
