You can stop checking your old tickets. The $1 Million Powerball winner from Wichita Falls has been announced. In a press release from the Texas Lottery today, they announced that Ben Mallonee of Wichita Falls has came forward with the winning ticket. Here's the official announcement.

Wichita Falls resident claims $1 million powerball®ticket


(AUSTIN) – Ben Mallonee of Wichita Falls has claimed a second-tier prizewinning Powerball® ticket worth $1 million. His ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (16-19-20-29-33) on Jan. 24, but not the red Powerball number (10).

The ticket was purchased at the S & L Beer, Wine and Grocery at 5001 Southwest Parkway in Wichita Falls.

The current estimated annuitized Powerball jackpot is $261 million for Wednesday night’s drawing.

Powerball jackpots start at $40 million and roll until the jackpot is won. Players win the jackpot by matching the five white ball numbers (1-59) and the red Powerball number (1-35). There are eight other ways to win non-jackpot prizes ranging from $4 to $1 million or up to $2 million if the ticket includes Power Play®. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are approximately one in 31. The overall odds of winning the jackpot prize are one in 175,223,510.
