The Wichita Falls Public Library and the Humane Society of Wichita County have teamed up to help out our four-legged friends this holiday season. The Humane Society Web site has a list of In-Kind Donations needed at the shelter, which may be dropped off at the library under their donation tree.

To date the Humane Society has seen over 1,200 animals adopted this year, but caring for animals isn’t free. Office supplies as small as white out to larger items such as event tents are needed, plus toys for the animals that are staying at the shelter. Even dogs and cats like a special treat during the holidays!

In addition to the tree set up at the library, you may make an online donation to their Virtual Angel Tree starting at just $5. The Humane Society will also be doing an adoption event on December 21 from 11:00am – midnight in the hopes of providing a few more pets their forever home.

If you’re considering getting a pet for the holidays, however, think about the adoption before committing. A pet will be in your life for years, and though they are a furry bundle of joy, they also come with expenses such as food, grooming, and veterinary care.

You can get more information about holiday events at the Humane Society through their Web site.
