Each week the Indoor Football League (IFL) selects offensive, defensive, and special teams players of the week. This week one of our own Wichita Falls Nighthawks players De'Markus Washington (KR) was named Special Teams Player of the Week.

The Nighthawks played the Nebraska Danger, defending Intense Conference Champs, last week taking flight very early in the game thanks to De'Markus Washington and the kick return team. Washington ran the opening kickoff 50 yards for a touchdown giving the Nighthawks an early lead.

Washington would finish the game with five kickoff returns for 92 yards and a touchdown, but despite an impressive showing, the Nighthawks were unable to secure the win with a final score of 45-23.

The IFL Offensive Player of the Week is Jameel Sewel (QB, Nebraska) and the Defensive Player of the Week is Dequan Starling (DB, Sioux Falls Storm).

The Wichita Falls Nighthawks prepare to play in their first-ever IFL home game this Saturday at Kay Yeager Coliseum with the chance to redeem themselves against the Nebraska Danger.
