An investigation by the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office has led to the recovery of over $10,000 in stolen property. Just after 6 am Tuesday morning, Deputy Greg Wilson saw a woman driving a red Kawasaki ATV east on Hampton Road. The woman drove the ATV into a private driveway on Highway 79 North.

A check of the ATV revealed that it had been stolen during a burglary that occurred on November 23 on Andy Kenyon Road near FM 368. Patrol Deputies and Deputies from the Criminal Investigation Section began following leads which lead to the recovery of three other stolen ATVs and a single axle trailer that was also stolen during the burglary.

The 32-year-old female was arrested and charged with theft over $2,500 and under $30,000. Investigators are currently interviewing other persons of interest that may have been involved in the burglary. Her identity has not yet been released.  As of Tuesday afternoon $10,500 in stolen property had been recovered.
