Recently, we asked you to vote for your favorite donut shop in the Falls, but today we are looking for the best in donut goodness across the Lonestar State!

The people at Buzzfeed teamed with Yelp to compile the list of the most popular donut shops in every state, as well as Washington D.C., using a formula that uses reviews and star ratings to determine the most popular. And for Texas, the most popular has been featured on television several times, including a spot on 'Man vs. Food', Round Rock Donuts in Round Rock, TX. From the shop's website,

Since 1926, people from all over the world have been stopping by to give our famous yellow (or are they orange?) donuts a try.

Round Rock Donuts, made from the original owner's recipe, are created with as much care and finesse as they were years ago. The yeast-risen donut originates from a bread-like dough; its distinct yellow color (from fresh eggs) immediately sets it off from any other donut.

Unlike baking powder donuts, this yeast donut cannot be machine-made; it must be hand-rolled, cut, fried and iced. On busy days, now as in the past, the bakery turns out 200 dozen of these popular originals.

Apart from donuts, the famous shop also turns out cakes and kolaches on a daily basis. But the thing that probably gets the shop most of its attention, aside from the unique orange glaze on their donuts, is their Texas-Sized Donut. The $7 donut has a special piece of equipment to cut the massive shape out of the dough, a bucket! Can you imagine eating a donut the size of a bucket? The impressive jumbo donut has sat in for birthday cakes for people across the Round Rock and Austin area, and spawned the challenge of trying to finish off the giant donut in under five minutes.

What's your favorite donut shop in Texas?
