Are you one of those people who prefer the kablubba kablubba rumble of an ever so slightly muffled V-8 to the whirry whisper of an electric radiator fan?

Then the Wheels Under Cover car show at the MPEC on March 10th is sure to get your motor running!

Over the last few years, Lonestar 102.3 has been held car shows at casinos and furniture stores and even our own parking lot. But with outdoor shows like those you always have to deal with the unpredictable north Texas weather. Sometimes the sun is so strong you can't spend as much time as you'd like admiring the mechanical marvels on display. Sometimes it's overcast and threatening rain and the owners just want to get their machines back inside where they're safe.

We finally saw the light (Or was it the light switch?) and moved our car show INSIDE the MPEC. We're calling it, Wheels Under Cover.

There's no World Of Wheels show this year, so this may be the biggest car show in the area, we're certainly hoping to get some primo cars to come out! Wheels Under Cover will be held on Saturday, March 10th, so you've still got time to get your car entered, or to tell your friend with the '69 Camaro or 64 1/2 Mustang about it.

There are categories for Fords, Mopars, GMs, T-Buckets, Street Rods and pretty much anything you can think of, pre-registration (by March 8th) is just $35 and the price goes $50 if you wait till the day of the show. If you've got questions, just give us a call at 940.763.1111 and ask for Roy. Or you can just click here for all the details or to enter your car online.

For the owners we've got a $750 prize for Best of Show and other prize amounts for Best Paint, Best Engine, Best Interior ... Well, you get the idea.

For the rest of us looky-loos, there is the high octane dream of a chrome topped trip-deuce setup feeding a long block V-8 plumbed with big tube headers and a fresh pair of glasspacks.

Oh, yeah...

And we don't need no stinkin' catalytic converters!

Wheels Under Cover will be open to the public from 10am to 5pm, Saturday, March 10th, at the MPEC and admission is only $3.00. Heck, you can't even buy a gallon of gas for three bucks these days!

I'm a Pontiac fan from way back, so if you know anyone with an old GTO, tell them to shine it up and bring it out! I'd sure love to see it.
