K-2, the ‘street’ name for synthetic marijuana, has been in the news a great deal this past year.  DEA raids in Dallas and Austin last summer netted millions of dollars in drugs and drug paraphernalia.  A raid in August 2014 led to the arrest of nine store owners/operators across Wichita Falls.  A traffic stop near Wichita Falls on Tuesday uncovered a literal truckload of K2.

At around 9 am Tuesday morning, DPS officers stopped a U-Haul truck on US 287 just outside of Iowa Park.  A search of the truck uncovered more than three dozen boxes containing synthetic marijuana.  According to KAUZ News Channel 6, 300,000 grams of the drug were found.  The drugs were valued at $3.7 million.

The driver, 51 years-old Ramzi Khamis Issi of Yucaipa, CA, was arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.  His bond was set at $100,000.  As of Thursday, Issi remains in the Wichita County Jail.
