Trace Adkins Hits The Big Screen, Eddie Rabbitt Loves Rainy Nights – Today In Country Music History

It was on this date in 2011 that Trace Adkins and several of his on-screen friends attended the premiere of The Lincoln Lawyer in Los Angeles, Little Big Town picked up their first gold record in 2006 and Eddie Rabbitt’s song about driving on a rainy night was certified gold in 1981.

  • Diamond Rio‘s “One More Day” hit Number One on the country singles chart in 2001.
  • Vince Gill and Amy Grant were married in Nashville in 2000.
  • Eddie Rabbitt‘s “I Love A Rainy Night” was certified gold in 1981.
  • James Brown made a guest appearance on the Grand Ole Opry in 1979.
  • Tammy Wynette topped the Billboard country singles chart with “‘Til I Get It Right” in 1973.
  • Ernest Tubb and Loretta Lynn recorded their first duet for Decca, “Love Was Right Here All The Time,” as well as the Top 20 single, “Mr. & Mrs. Used To Be,” in 1964.
  • Patsy Cline was buried in her hometown of Winchester, Virginia in 1963.
