Tim McGraw took home the belt buckle in the coveted Video of the Year category at Wednesday night's 2016 CMT Music Awards, and he brought his daughter along to celebrate.

Before the show, McGraw posted a photo of himself and his middle daughter, Maggie, on their way to the red carpet. "Me and my date," he captioned a selfie with his 17-year-old little girl.

Of course, McGraw greatly appreciated the fan-voted award he pocketed. During his acceptance speech, he thanked the fans. "Thank y'all for caring a little bit about what we do," he remarked.

McGraw released "Humble and Kind" in January and it quickly became a fan favorite, inspiring good deeds everywhere as well as graduation performances from kindergarten to high school and college commencements. Recently, during Red Rock Central High School’s commencement the senior choir members performed their own version of the song.

“Humble and Kind” is the last track on McGraw’s most recent project, Damn Country Music. Written by Lori McKenna, it is a song that he holds dear. In an interview, he admitted that he had a difficult time recording the track without choking up.

"We spent thirty minutes on it and sure enough I cried through every take. I would try to pull myself together and I’d get halfway through it and I’d just start blubbering," McGraw says. "It certainly is a letter to your kids in a lot of ways. But it’s certainly a song that I will learn from, just listening to the song and recording the song."
