Thomas Rhett Shows Wichita Falls How to Party, Performs Unforgettable Show [PHOTOS]

Blake's Taste Of Country Christmas Tour with Thomas Rhett and Brian Milson stopped in Wichita Falls on Friday, November 8th.  Before the show, Thomas filmed a new Blake Backstage video where he said that we could expect a "very energetic show with a lot of crowd participation."  That was definitely true on Friday night.

The night started with country newcomer Brian Milson and his band.  They played a half-hour set consisting of a few originals, and some pretty interesting covers. It was pretty cool to hear some songs like Bruno Mar's "Lazy Song" and Alex Clare's "Too Close" done with a country vibe. Brian got the crowd on their feet and ready for the night's headliner.

At 10pm, Thomas and his band took the stage. They started out playing a few upbeat songs that definitely let the crowd know they were at this show to party! At one point they covered Garth Brooks' "Friends In Low Places." When it came to the legendary third verse, Thomas pulled a guy out of the audience (who happened to be a soldier) to help sing along.  It ended up being an entire chorus singing as the whole audience got into it.

After getting everybody's blood pressure up with Lee Brice's song "Parking Lot Party" (which Thomas co-wrote with Brice) things took a more low key setting for a bit.  Thomas brought out an acoustic guitar, sent the rest of the band backstage and played one of his first hits, "Beer with Jesus." He mentioned how he had written that song when he was in college. He then talked a bit about how writing a song for Jason Aldean led him to realize this was actually something he could do for a living. The acoustic set continued with a medley of some of the song that Thomas had written for other artist.

Then came a HUGE surprise. Thomas said he had a special guest and suddenly his dad, Rhett Akins, joined him on the stage. Rhett led the crowd in an amazing sing along version of his 90's hit "That Ain't My Truck." Then father and son sang together. It was something completely unexpected, but worth way more than any ticket price could reflect.

The band joined Thomas back on stage and the volume got turned back up to finish out the night. They played Thomas' latest hits, "It Goes Like This" and "Something To Do With My Hands."  The crowd was on their feet as the band left the stage. Don't think it was done yet though. After the chants of "one more song" continued, the band came back out for an encore of Jason Aldean's song, written by Thomas, "1994" ended the night.

For the price, you could not have asked for a better show at Denim and Diamonds on a Friday night.
