Terri Clark was at the top of the charts on this date in 2004, the Judds were building bridges in 1990, all eyes were on the World Trade Center buildings in 2001 and more.

  • Terri Clark claimed the top spot on the Billboard country chart with “Girls Lie Too” in 2004.
  • A terrorist attack leveled both towers at the World Trade Center in New York in 2001. Although Garth Brooks, Darius Rucker, Billy Gilman, Rosanne Cash and Mary Chapin Carpenter were all in Manhattan at the time, they were all uninjured.
  • Chely Wright scored her first Number One single with “Single White Female” in 1999.
  • The JuddsLove Can Build A Bridge album was released in 1990.
  • Randy Travis‘s Heroes And Friends album was released in 1990.
  • Hank Williams Jr.‘s “All My Rowdy Friends Are Here On Monday Night” debuted as the theme for ABC’s Monday Night Football in 1989.
  • Barbara Mandrell and her children Matthew and Jaimie were injured in a car wreck in Hendersonville, Tennessee in 1984.
  • Jerry Reed hit the top of the Billboard country chart with “She Got The Goldmine (I Got The Shaft)” in 1982.
  • Freddie Hart netted a Number One country single in Billboard with “Easy Loving” in 1971.
  • Bobbie Gentry collected a gold single for “Ode To Billie Joe” in 1967.
