After performing alongside wife Faith Hill in Nashville on Saturday, he brought out local boy-done-good Scotty McCreery to sing the second verse of ‘I Like It, I Love It.’ To say that it was met with a resounding applause from the crowd would be putting it mildly.
The Band Perry came on stage at the 2012 CMT Music Awards tonight before their performance to present the award for USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year. Before they announced the big winner, Neil Perry gave viewers a taste of his vocals when he sang the chorus of the Doors’ ‘Break on Through to the Other Side.’ Although all of the nominees have had a great year, one country singer stuck out — and the audience was quite happy with the winner.

‘American Idol‘ Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery returned to the stage tonight (March 29) to perform his twangy, uptempo single ‘Water Tower Town.’ It feels like only yesterday that the singer was competing in the thick of the competition each and every week. Now, with a hit record and hard-earned status as a country superstar, McCreery really has grown by leaps and bounds in the space of a year.
Scotty McCreery will perform ‘Water Tower Town’ on ‘American Idol’ Thursday night (March 29), just hours after the track from ‘Clear as Day’ becomes the North Carolina singer’s third single. Thus far, his radio catalog has behaved like Grandma’s famous green bean casserole — great on Sunday, pretty good the day after, but by the third helping you’re ready to try a new flavor.
