Dierks Bentley‘s got a generous heart and a pointed interest in supporting our troops and their families, especially those in need. The country singer gifted a military family who needed a little help with a $50,000 donation on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Wednesday, and he was met with a hug from a uniformed officer and his wife, who shed tears of joy over Bentley’s financial contribution on their behalf.

Dierks Bentley, Darius Rucker + More to Perform at 2012 Pre-Super Bowl Shows

Te 2012 Super Bowl takes place on Feb. 5 in Indianapolis, and the city is taking the hosting of the NFL event seriously. The powers-that-be have invited some country stars to be a part of the festivities. The city’s Pan Am Plaza is being turned into something called Super Bowl Village from Jan. 27 through Feb. 4, and country stars Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker are on board to perform during those dates. Bentley and Rucker are essentially on the entertainment road leading up to the actual big game.

Dierks Bentley Comes ‘Home’ to Country Music in New Album [AUDIO]

For a guy who’s on the road as much as Dierks Bentley, naming a song ‘Home‘ could be seen as a sort of wistfully ironic joke. But in the case of Bentley’s latest single, currently hovering outside the Top 40 at country radio, the title ‘Home’ has more than one meaning.

“I think that title of that song is special to me because I’m coming home to country music,” he told CMT during a recent interview. “I’m on the road all the time, so everywhere we go has a hometown feel.”
