We were all shocked yesterday by the death of actor Bill Paxton. One of his more popular roles was in the movie "Twister'. Storm chasers came together in Tornado Alley to honor the late actor.

Bill Paxton has been in countless roles. 'Titanic', 'Aliens','Apollo 13', just to name a few. 'Twister' hit big when it came out in 1996 and I remember that movie terrifying the crap out of me as a kid. That movie definitely inspired people to become storm chasers and a group just north of us paid tribute to the 'Twister' star.

Two hundred people came together on Sunday to make this tribute happen. The Spotter Network organized the whole thing to make sure people were properly placed. They have actually done this before when a fellow storm chaser passes away, but this is the first time a non-chaser got the initials tribute.

“There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of meteorologists today — myself included — who were impacted by the movie ‘Twister’ and the role Bill played in that,” Wetter told The Associated Press in a phone interview. ” ‘Twister’ was kind of the first time in a mass media place the meteorologist became cool, if only for a little while.”

R.I.P. Bill Paxton, I will remember you as the guy shouting game over in 'Aliens'. You will be missed.
