They released their debut album, “Bossier City” in 2007. By 2012, with their third album “Goodbye Normal Street” in tow, the Turnpike Troubadours established themselves as a premiere band in the Texas/Red Dirt scene. For proof look no further than that “Goodbye Normal Street” was the No. 1 selling album of the year at Lone Star Music.

Their feat was aided by a few monster radio singles. This week one of them “Gin, Smoke Lies” lands the RTX Sunday Video. And while it’s not quite as sexy, they also landed my Top 10 Totally Awesome Songs of 2012, with “Good Lord Lorrie.”
