The greatest game show of my childhood will be making somewhat of a comeback. My inner child is losing it right now.

Looks like Nickelodeon is trying to go for the nostalgia factor in the next couple of months. If you grew up in the 90's, you definitely spent some time watching the game show 'Legends of the Hidden Temple'. It was amazing. The huge talking statue, Olmec. Some pretty dangerous games, that I actually read about kids getting hurt on. Plus, the grand finale, the temple maze run (see video above).

That thing had me yelling at my TV screen as a kid. "The monkey head goes on top, ON TOP!" Kids rarely won the grand prize, which was a trip to space camp 90 percent of the time. Something about this show brings back so many memories. I see some channels doing re-runs late at night sometimes, and you bet your ass I'm watching.

Well, "Legends of the Hidden Temple" is going to be coming back to Nickelodeon. Not in game show form, though. They're going to make it into a TV movie.

According to sources, this is the basic premise: In “Hidden Temple, three siblings must conquer a series of obstacles to remain alive, mirroring the theme of the original game show.

The TV movie, slated to appear in the fourth quarter of 2016, will nod to other elements from the original show, including Olmec, a talking head who knows the secrets behind the temple; the Steps of Knowledge, the entrance to the temple and launching pad for the mission; and cameos from a green monkey, red jaguar and silver snakes, among others.
