Midsummer Acoustic Night At The Forum This Saturday Evening [VIDEO]

Every now and then a show comes to Wichita Falls that is just too good to miss, and the Midsummer Acoustic Night concert this Saturday night at the Kemp At The Forum promises to be one of those shows.

The event will feature not one, but two incredibly talented performers, Wil Maring and Robert Bowlin.

From a childhood of picking out tunes on a Sears guitar at her parents' roadside vegetable stand to performing at the Grand Ole Opry, music has been a central part of Wil Maring's life. Her career includes extensive touring in Europe and Japan with her band Shady Mix, to teaching songwriting classes at festivals and music camps across the nation, to taking to the highways and byways of this great nation playing acoustic shows with her musical partner Robert Bowlin. Wil's music touches on the heart of life in America and nationally syndicated bluegrass radio host Dave Higgs from Nashville describes her as, "Absolutely, hands-down some of the most mesmerizing, exciting, interesting and enjoyable acoustic music I have ever heard. Wil's songs are just in a league of their own, and the picking.... the interplay between (the musicians) is simply astonishing. Not clones -- but an inspired group with a different message. I love it!"

But Wil Maring is only half of the performance scheduled for the Kemp At The Forum Saturday evening, she'll be accompanied by two time national fingerpicking and flatpicking contest winner Robert Bowlin. Throughout his career Robert has performed with Bill Monroe, Maura O'Connell, Kathy Mattea, the Osborne Brothers and many more. He even spent some time at East Tennessee State University teaching their bluegrass program.

The Midsummer Acoustic Night concert is at the Kemp At The Forum at 2120 Speedway and begins at 7:00pm this Saturday night, July 21st. The doors open at 6:30. Tickets are $25 and are available by contacting The Forum at 940.766.3347.

Proceeds from this performance will go toward the Renaissance of the Forum to ensure this grand old building continues to be a showcase in Wichita Falls and a venue for performing artists of all types for years to come.
