Wichita Falls city crews will be replacing a large valve in the water distribution system in the northeast portion of the city beginning Monday, January 27, leaving many residents and businesses without water.

This project will require the water to be shut off to areas north of Highway 287 and East of I-44. More specifically, the area along Loop 11, up to Bacon Switch Road, east to Burkburnett road and down Airport Drive (see map below). The water will be off for approximately eight hours, beginning at 10:00 pm Monday, January 27 until 6:00 am Tuesday, January 28.

Residents and business owners in the affected areas are encouraged to prepare a supply of water to use during this time period if needed.

The Wichita Falls Public Utilities Department says, "We appreciate the continued understanding and patience of residents as the City continues to maintain the drinking water system for the community."
