Josh Turner was riding a Long Black Train to a gold record on this date in 2004, Johnny Paycheck walked away from his paycheck in 1978 and a Christmas song was at the top of the Country charts back in 1949.

• Charley Pride debuted on the Grand Ole Opry in 1967.

• Hank Snow debuted on the Grand Ole Opry in 1950.

• Gene Autry scored a Number One hit "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer" in 1949.

I know Christmas is past, but this is a true classic. I can still remember playing this album as a kid.
