Jason Aldean has dropped a rockin' new single and announced a new album, just in time for the 2016 ACM Awards.

"Lights Come On" is the lead single from Aldean's forthcoming seventh studio album, which is slated for release in the summer of 2016. According to a press release, the "adrenaline-filled" track features "blistering guitar riffs and blustery choruses."

The song seems destined to become an important part of Aldean's live shows, since it was inspired by his fans. The track "taps into the universal connection he shares with fans every night on the road."

"When the lights come on and everybody's screamin' / Lighters in the sky, yeah, and everybody's singing / Every word to every song to the girl they're takin' home tonight / When the lights come on and everybody's feelin' / A hallelujah high from the floor to the ceiling / Yeah the drink that we're drinkin', the smoke that we're smokin' / The party we're throwing's going all night long when the light come on," Aldean sings.

“Being on stage is why I do what I do, it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do,” Aldean says. “This song is all about that rush you can only get from stepping on stage and listening to fans sing along to every word. It’s about throwing the biggest party from the floor to the top of the rafters for all those people who spent their paycheck to come see us. We’re bringing it to Vegas this weekend and I can’t think of a better place to kick it off than at the ACMs.”

The country superstar will debut the guitar-driven song live during the live broadcast of the 2016 ACM Awards on Sunday evening (April 3). He has not yet revealed any further details of his upcoming album.
