America’s 238th birthday is right around the corner.  July 4th will be an exciting time all across America and the heart of the party in Wichita Falls will be at Sheppard AFB.  Friday, July 4th, Freedom Fest 2014 will kick off at 4:30 pm.  The Missile Road Gate opens to the public at 3:30 pm.  Admission is, of course, free.  Air Force personnel will direct you to the public parking and six buses will be on site to take you directly to the site of party.

Some common sense rules apply: no coolers, no backpacks, no weapons and no tobacco products please.  Camp chairs and lawn chairs are OK to bring onto the base.  Live music starts at 4:30 pm.  This year Sheppard welcomes Miyagi, AA Bottom and The Dirty River Boys to the stage.  That’s a lot of talent packed into six hours!

There will be plenty of food, fun and cold drinks and lots of kid’s activities.  Just $5 gets your child unlimited access to the kids area.  $5 to guarantee that the kids will be worn smooth out by 10:30 pm so mom and dad can round out the night alone on the couch with a movie-worth every penny.

And of course, the day will end with a spectacular fireworks display at about 10 pm.  Yes, Texoma, this will be the coolest July 4th bash around.  Hats off in advance to our men and women at Sheppard AFB for all of the hard work that goes into these events.   Mark your calendars now-Friday, July 4, 3:30pm at Sheppard AFB!
