Face it, we live in a radioactive world. From medical and dental x-rays, to porcelain crowns, to the luminous hands on our wrist watches, even to where we live on the planet we're all exposed to minute amounts of radiation every day. But how much is too much? And should we be worried about fallout from Japan?

I finally came across a well thought out website answering some of my questions about radiation exposure! Dr. Nancy Snyderman, a regular contributor to NBC News, has posted a series of some of the most asked questions and their answers. You can even do a quick calculation about how many millirems of radiation you're exposed to each year. I scored 326.24 while the national average is around 620.

I think you'll feel much better about our risks involved with the events unfolding at the Fukushima power plant after reading what Dr. Snyderman has to say. I know most of us will be a little better informed.
