I have a cat named Cracky McCracken. She got her name because when she was a kitten she had two speeds - on crack or sleeping. As she's gotten older she's mellowed out, but she still likes playing games with me and likes getting her belly scratched. When I scratch that belly, however, she likes to kick at my hands and arms and play with me. Every once in a while she draws blood, but that isn't too often.

The thing is, Cracky McCracken isn't a huge cat. She's big in the belly, but I can easily overpower her if needed. That would include picking her up and taking her outside or shutting her into a different room... if she honestly attacked me I'm not worried that I wouldn't be able to handle the situation.

A man in Cleveland, Texas, apparently doesn't have the ability to stand up to his cat in a fight.

Last week, the man got into a fight with his cat for reasons unknown. The fight got so out of hand that he ended up pulling a knife on the cat.

According to the The Cleveland Advocate, even the man's knife-wielding attempt at fighting off the animal left both he and the aggressive kitty severely injured.

The result was so gruesome that the man was taken to Cleveland Regional Medical Center, only to have doctors elect for more serious medical attention, calling in air transportation to Houston's Memorial Hermann Hospital.

Unfortunately, the kittie's injuries were serious enough that she needed to be put down, which makes the story actually quite sad.

But at the same time, I can't help but wonder what on Earth was going on that this dude needed to pull a knife on his house cat! Was she really so big that he couldn't walk away from the situation? And what did he do with that knife (or what did the cat do to him) that would cause such serious injury that he required an air ambulance to have himself patched up?

I'll be looking for more info on this one...
