This week, 54-year-old Alec Baldwin announced his engagement to 28-year-old Hilaria Thomas, making her 26-years younger than him. He's almost twice as old!

Alec and Hilaria's engagement got the people at the website "Nerve" to ask the question: What's the appropriate cut-off for an age difference in a relationship?

Among the "Nerve" readers, nearly half of them believe that age is simply a number and shouldn't factor into a relationship. About one-in-6 in this survey thought 10-years should be the maximum age difference, while one-tenth stretched it up to 20-years. But a few people voted for the basic rule that you can date a person "half your age plus seven". See the complete survey results here.

But we want to know what YOU think. Have you ever dated someone much older or much younger than you?
