Days after two companies purchased Hastings, the bankrupt Amarillo-based retailer has announced its going out of business sale.

After the purchase of Hastings Wednesday (July 20) by Hilco Merchant Resources LLC and Gordon Brothers Retail Partners LLC, the companies were given the go-ahead by a court to begin liquidating their newly-bought inventory.

The current going out of business sale offers customers at all Hastings stores in the U.S. up to 30 percent off everything. Hastings sent out an email to its Passport club members Saturday morning confirming this, and updated its website with a splash page about the sale.

It's still unclear when several West Texas Hastings stores will close. The company operates two stores in Lubbock, two in Midland-Odessa, three in Amarillo and several more throughout West Texas.

Hastings filed for Chapter 11 in June. The deadline for the new owners to close all Hastings locations is October 31, 2016.

Fans of Hastings have expressed their sadness about the company's pending closure on Twitter with the hashtag, #SaveHastings.
