  • Gretchen Wilson performed “Redneck Woman” in her debut on the Grand Ole Opry in 2004. The same night, Steve Wariner invited Terri Clark to become the Opry’s newest member.
  • Rascal FlattsJay DeMarcus married Allison Alderson in Nashville in 2004. His groomsmen included fellow band members Gary LeVox and Joe Don Rooney, plus comedian Cledus T. Judd. Vince Gill sang “When Love Finds You” during the ceremony.
  • Singer-songwriter June Carter Cash, wife of Johnny Cash and a member of the Carter Family, died in 2003.
  • Tim McGraw‘s “Please Remember Me,” written by Rodney Crowell, began a five-week stay at Number One in Billboard in 1999.
  • Bill Monroe was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, alongside The Bee Gees, The Jackson 5, Joni Mitchell, The Young Rascals, King Records founder Syd Nathan, Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1997.
  • John Michael Montgomery scored his first chart-topping hit single with “I Love The Way You Love Me” in 1993.
  • Martina Schiff married John McBride in Wichita, Kansas in 1988.
  • Ricky Skaggs joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1982.
  • Eddy Arnold‘s Number One single “Bouquet Of Roses” began its 54-week run on the Billboard chart in 1948.
