Gary LeVox Has A Baby, Billy Currington Gets Help – Today In Country Music History

Billy Currington went to Hawaii for some therapy on this date in 2007, Gary LeVox from Rascal Flatts welcomed his first child in 2000 and LeAnn Rimes struck gold back in 1997.

  • Billy Currington went to Hawaii in 2007 to begin therapy for anger issues related to the abuse he suffered from a stepfather in childhood. The abuser was actually the subject of Currington’s first hit, “Walk A Little Straighter.”
  • Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox and his wife, Tara, welcomed their first daughter, Brittany Kay, in Nashville in 2000.
  • Pam Tillis became a member of the Grand Ole Opry cast in 2000.
  • Jamie O’Neal married recording engineer Rodney Good in 2000.
  • LeAnn Rimes‘ version of “How Do I Live” earned a gold single in 1997.
  • Alan Jackson went double-platinum for the first time with his Don’t Rock The Jukebox album in 1992.
  • John Denver recorded “Thank God I’m A Country Boy” at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles in 1974 in his first night of concerts that become the album An Evening With John Denver.
  • Charley Pride recorded the Number One hit, “Is Anybody Goin’ to San Antone,” in 1969.
  • Jeannie C. Riley‘s “Harper Valley P.T.A.” went gold in 1968.
