Garth Brooks sang about freedom on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on this date in 2009, Keith Urban went triple platinum in 2006 and Ernest Tubb was Walkin’ The Floor in 1944.

  • Garth Brooks sang “We Shall Be Free” on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during an inaugural event for Barack Obama in 2009.
  • Keith Urban‘s Be Here album went triple-platinum in 2006.
  • Dan Seals‘ “Bop” went to Number One on the Billboard country singles chart in 1986.
  • Roy Orbison underwent open heart surgery for three blocked arteries at Nashville’s St. Thomas Hospital in 1978.
  • Ernest Tubb recorded “Walking The Floor Over You” in 1944.
