Florida Georgia Line are on fire with their hit ‘Cruise,’ and they just set the all-time record for the most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. When they smashed through the 17-week record, everyone was wondering if they’d have enough momentum to set this new record, and they did — easily.

The duo, comprised of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, really can’t be stopped. Their phenomenal song ‘Cruise’ is at its 22nd cumulative week at the summit, wowing everyone with its steady record-breaking power on the chart. With its latest week at No. 1, the song passes three other titles that each led for 21 weeks during the chart’s 69-year history, according to Billboard.

The chart’s first 21-week No. 1 — ranked by jukebox play at the time — belonged to Eddy Arnold’s hit ‘I’ll Hold You in My Heart (Till I Can Hold You in My Arms)’ from 1947-48. Then, in the summer of 1950, Hank Snow’s ‘I’m Moving On’ dominated the chart, while Webb Pierce’s ‘In the Jailhouse Now’ grabbed up the top spot for 21 weeks beginning in February 1955. And now, FGL has surpassed all of those hits with a 22-week streak.

‘Cruise’ isn’t a stranger to breaking records, as it notched the most chart-topping weeks for a song by a duo and has sold 5.4 million downloads to date, becoming the third-best-selling country digital track ever. The duo’s competition for the top spot belongs to Lady Antebellum with ‘Need You Now’ (6.2 million), followed by Taylor Swift‘s ‘Love Story’ (5.6 million).

FGL’s unmatched success has propelled them into a busy country music career. The duo will head out on their first-ever headlining tour, the 2013 Here’s to the Good Times Tour, this fall. They’re also hard at work on their sophomore album.
