Wichita Falls Police are investigating an early morning accident that has left two men dead and two others hospitalized.  Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at about 1:15 am Friday morning in the 300 block of Central Freeway, near Patterson Auto.  When officers arrived they discovered a vehicle had crashed and was submerged in Holliday Creek.

Officers located the driver, 21-year-old Omar Vera and front passenger 18-year-old Julian Cerna, in the area. Vera and Cerna were able to free themselves from the wreck. Two others, 17-year-old Antonio Sanchez and 19-year-old Juan Calixto were trapped in the submerged vehicle. The trapped individuals were freed by Wichita Falls Firefighters. All four were transported to United Regional. The two men who were trapped in the car were pronounced dead at United Regional. The other two men suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, Omar Vera, has been arrested and charged with two counts of Intoxication Manslaughter.
