In 1994, Jim Carrey hit a third box office smash in a row with "Dumb and Dumber" following up "Ace Ventura Pet Detective" and "The Mask". Nearly 20 years later, Carrey teams up again with recent Emmy Winner Jeff Daniels for "Dumb and Dumber To," which began production this week.

Twenty years after their Aspen road trip to return a briefcase of money, Llyod Christmas (Carrey) and Harry Dunne (Daniels) receive a message from a former mutual love Fraida Felcher (Kathleen Turner) saying that one of the two is the father of her child. The news couldn't come at a better time as one of the two needs a new kidney, so Harry and Lloyd take to the road to find their potential child with the hope that the offspring will be a donor match.

A follow-up to the original "Dumb and Dumber" has been trying to get off the ground for years, with directors Bobby and Peter Farrelly directing their attention to other projects like "The Three Stooges" and "Movie 43".  A prequel, "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Llyod", was released in 2003 to poor reviews with the Farrelly borthers attached to the project in name only.

After winning his first Emmy award Sunday for his role in "The Newsroom", Jeff Daniels spoke about going from an Emmy win to the set of "Dumb and Dumber To", equating it to an intellectual free-fall. Daniels also gave hints to the gross out factor for the film, saying,

There are some things we're going to do in 'Dumb and Dumber To' that are going to make the toilet scene look lame.

Don't remember that scene?  (Warning: Poop Jokes)

While Jeff Daniels tweeted the above photo earlier today, Jim Carrey took to WhoSay to post a picture of Harry and Lloyd reading Carrey's new children's book that released today.
