At about 12:30 AM on March 9, a man broke into the Deli Planet restaurant located at 4014 Sheppard Access Rd in Wichita Falls. Rebecca Rutledge, owner of the Deli Planet, shared surveillance video of the incident (seen above) asking the community to help identify the man.

The suspect is a white male in his 50s, approximately 5'10" - 6' tall, 200 lbs, and was wearing camouflage pants.

Rutledge says the man used a meat cleaver to break the glass on the front door of the restaurant, cutting his right hand in the process and setting off a silent alarm. When police arrived, the man had already left the building.

The suspect was inside the restaurant for approximately nine minutes. He managed to steal several pieces of cutlery, alcohol (bottom shelf), chili, Tobasco and other food items. The cost of the damages and stolen items is about $2500.

If you can identify the man in the video, or have any other information that could help this investigation, call Crime Stoppers 24 hours a day at 940-322-9888 or toll free at 1-800-322-9888.

A call requesting a statement from the WFPD was not immediately returned. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.
