Cats are thought of as finicky, but I think they’re just lazy. Sure, the cat won’t come to you when she’s called, but it’s not because she doesn’t like you or wants to defy you, it’s because she’s just simply too lazy to get up from where she’s at. Or, if the cat is already up and moving around but still won’t walk your way, there was probably something shiny in the corner that must be checked out right now and you’ll just have to wait. My cat will come when she’s called, but sometimes it takes her a minute to get off the couch. It’s a comfortable place to be, after all. Some cats don’t have someone vying for their attention, nor do they have a place to call home. That’s where you come in.

The Humane Society shelters pets, gets them the care they need, gives them the love they’re craving, and does their best to place them in permanent homes. Whether you’re looking for a lazy dog who prefers a quiet walk to play, or a cat who chases toys, chances are the Humane Society will have your perfect match.

May I present our pets of the week. If you’d like to see them in person or get more information on these pets or any other pets that the Humane Society has, check them out online here or call 940-855-4941. They’re located at 4360 Old Iowa Park Road in Wichita Falls.

Clark Kent

Clark Kent is a medium sized, adult male Pit Bull Terrier mix. He won’t do wardrobe changes in a phone booth or fly into space to save the planet, but he will hang out with you and play a great game of fetch. At 2-years-old, he’s still young enough to love playing, but doesn’t have the excitability of a puppy. He’s neutered, up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Clark Kent is a loyal dog who would love to have a place to call his own. Swing by to meet him today!

Patty Catty

Patty Catty is a medium sized, adult, long-haired female cat. She’s been featured as a pet of the week in the past, and she’s been at the Humane Society for quite some time. She’s a little shy at first but warms up quickly and is a very sweet kitty. Her family moved and couldn’t take her with them, so here’s your opportunity to give her a second chance. She’s spayed, up-to-date on shots, heartworm tested and on preventative, and microchipped. Patty Catty has been away from home for far too long, so stop by to meet her and see if she’s a good fit for your household.
