Hundreds of people are camped out at Chick-Fil-A in Wichita Falls, all in the hopes that they’ll win free food for a year. The chain’s opening has been highly anticipated, with the wait ending on Thursday, June 13. The restaurant is located at 3704 Call Field, right off of Kemp.

The tradition of giving away free food began in Arizona back in 2003, when hundreds camped outside a restaurant while waiting for it to open. Since that time, they’ve made the “First 100” an event when doing a grand opening, and as the photos below show, people are indeed excited about it. The first one hundred adults that enter the restaurant when it opens tomorrow at 6:00am will win a one-year supply of meals in the form of 52 vouchers that consist of a Chick-Fil-A Chicken sandwich, medium Waffle Potato Fries, and a medium drink. However, if there were more than 100 people there by 6:00am this morning, and it looks like there were, then those winners will be determined via raffle. In order to win one of the prizes, participants needed to be there at the 6:00am cutoff today and must remain there until the official opening. You can find out more about the “First 100” by visiting their official rules.

In addition to the hype about the free food, this Chick-Fil-A has created 90 jobs for the community. The restaurant has seating for 100 people inside, 24 outside, and dual drive-thru lanes for vehicles. They offer free Wi-Fi, and they’ll be open Monday through Saturday from 6:30am to 10:30pm, with breakfast served until 10:30am.
