Baseball Coach Gives Player Kidney [VIDEO]

Wake Forest University baseball coach Tom Walter has given one of his players a kidney.

Freshman outfielder Kevin Jordan has ANCA vasculitis, a rare autoimmune disease that would have led to kidney failure by the time he finished college, unless he got a kidney transplant

Jordan had been trying to play baseball, despite his condition, but had been worn out by the daily dialysis treatments.

Coach Walters credits “divine intervention” for making him Jordan’s organ donor match. Coach and player are currently recovering from their surgeries, and Jordan will be able to resume exercise in eight weeks.

‘Polite Robber’ Arrested, Turns Out to Be a Liar [VIDEO]

A lot of people were saddened by this video of a 65-year-old robber repeatedly apologizing to the convenience store clerk he was robbing. The "Polite Robber" spoke in a soft voice, used the word “sir” and remorsefully told the clerk that he needed money to pay rent and feed his kids.

However, it seems they needn't have felt bad for the the thief, who was arrested after a tipster recognized him in the video. It turns he has been arrested for similar crimes before, and he isn’t currently supporting any children. Keep reading to see the video.

As the roads in Wichita Falls slowly clear of the snow and ice, I discovered this story from the Daily Mail that shows the magnitude of the storm system that dropped five or so inches on us. The pictures are breathtaking - especially if you've ever been in the kind of deep freeze cold some of these cities are going through! Here's the full story, with LOTS of pictures, from the Daily Mail.

Snow and ice may be blanketing a good part of the country, but the nation’s foremost groundhog says better weather is coming soon.

Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow this February 2nd, as he emerged from Gobbler's Knob, which suggests we will have an early spring.

Since 1887, Phil has only predicted 15 early springs. The StormFax Weather Almanac pegs Phil’s accuracy as a prognosticator at 39 percent. See video of the little critter after the jump.
