Today's catch of the day comes from an artist who recently became the first female artist since 2006 to hit number one with her debut single.

When Kelsea Balerini reached number one with "Love Me Like You Mean It" this week, she became the first female solo artist to reach the top of the country chart with her debut single since Carrie Underwood hit #1 on January 21, 2006 with "Jesus, Take The Wheel".

With that, she also became one of only 11 female artists in the history of the country charts to reach #1 with that lead single. This list includes Jamie O'Neal ("There Is No Arizona"), Gretchen Wilson ("Redneck Woman"), Trisha Yearwood ("She's In Love With The Boy") and Underwood. To say the least, Kelsea is breaking grounds right away.

Kelsea Ballerini was 12 years old when her parents divorced in 2005, and quickly discovered her natural skill for songwriting, as an escape from life's heartaches. Her mother moved her to Nashville 3 years later to pursue Kelsea's music. Her natural vision, ambition, natural talent, and genuinely positive personality got her quickly noticed around Nashville.

Kelsea signed with Black River Entertainment in 2013 at the age of 19. Ballerini released her triumphant single in late 2014, and soon after was named one of CMT's Women of Country Music. After releasing a self-titled EP in November, Ballerini debuted her single at the Grand Ole Opry in February and then released her debut album, The First Time on May 19th.

The second single from The First Time is in the spotlight today. Kelsea Ballerini has called "Dibs" on our Catch of the Day today, new music you haven't heard, but you'll want to hear it again.
