The crowd was already whipped into a frenzy before hosts Luke Bryan and Kimberly Perry announced Carrie Underwood as the first performer at the 'CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock' special on ABC Monday night. The three-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year winner performed 'Good Girl' during a hot summer Nashville night.

Cameras grabbed close-up after close-up of the photogenic country superstar. Before she began, Bryan showed appreciation for her famous legs, which were on full display in a pair of short -- but not too short -- glitzy shorts and a red, white and blue tank top. Cowboy boots completed the outfit. The song was the first single from Underwood's 'Blown Away' album and was all over the radio when this performance took place in mid-June.

Only commercials could interrupt the early energy of the pre-taped event, which promises performance and interviews with the biggest names in Nashville annually. The annual CMA Music Festival is unique in that no other genre offers an opportunity to see and often meet its stars during one long weekend. Bryan and Perry showed instant chemistry hosting the show, a TV first for both of them.
