Brad Paisley Stands In The Circle, Jason Aldean Goes Green – Today In Country Music History [VIDEO]

Brad Paisley teamed up with Little Jimmy Dickens on the restored stage of the Grand Ole Opry in 2010, Jason Aldean went green in 2009 and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band had their first number one hit back in 1984.

Here’s the list for Today In Country Music History for 25 August, 2011.

  • Brad Paisley and Little Jimmy Dickens sang “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” after a restored circle of historic wood was returned to the Grand Ole Opry House stage in 2010 in the aftermath of a May flood.
  • Jason Aldean‘s “Big Green Tractor” went to Number One in 2009.
  • Chuck Wicks made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2007.
  • Trisha Yearwood collected a gold album for Where Your Road Leads in 1998.
  • Sammy Kershaw earned his first gold album, Don’t Go Near The Water, in 1992.
  • The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band charted their first Number One country single, “Long Hard Road,” in 1984.
  • Charlie Daniels‘ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” topped country and rock charts in 1979.
  • Olivia Newton-John debuted on the charts with “Let Me Be There” in 1973.
