Brad Paisley Goes Fishin’ and Garth Brooks Gets “KISSed” – Today In Country Music History [VIDEO]

Brad Paisley went fishin’ on this date in 2002, Reba McEntire and Martina McBride had a big girl’s night out in 2001 and Garth Brooks got “KISSed” on the Tonight Show back in 1994.

Here’s the rundown for Today In Country Music History for 13 July, 2011.

  • Jerrod Niemann‘s debut album, Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury, was released in 2010.
  • Easton Corbin‘s debut single, “A Little More Country Than That,” was released to radio in 2009.
  • Brad Paisley‘s “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” hit Number One on the country chart in 2002.
  • Reba McEntire and Martina McBride headlined the biggest all-female lineup in country music history, as the Girls Night Out tour debuted at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay in 2001. Sara Evans, Jamie O’Neal and Carolyn Dawn Johnson were also on the bill.
  • Shania Twain‘s “No One Needs To Know” became her fourth Number One single in 1996.
  • Garth Brooks performed “Hard Luck Woman” with Kiss on The Tonight Show in 1994.
  • Donna Fargo was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1978.
  • The Everly Brothers broke up onstage at Knott’s Berry Farm in 1973.
