Blake Shelton's home was nearly hit by the Moore, Okla. tornado that ripped through the town in May 2013, leaving debris and devastation in its wake. Although the country star's house was unscathed, there were so many victims left with nothing -- and he's going to meet a few of them.

Dawn Gomes and a few of her fellow employees at JCPenney had their lives turn upside down after the tornado hit, and JCP Cares, which Shelton has partnered with and is the ambassador for, wanted to help uplift some of the victims. In addition to helping them get back on their feet, they're sending some of the tornado-stricken individuals to the country star's concert in Tulsa, Okla. on Friday (Oct. 4).

Miki Woodard, president of JCP Cares, tells Tulsa World, "When this came up, because we had that relationship with Blake already and he is from Oklahoma, it was a natural tie-in. We wanted this to be a full circle experience from the beginning of him posting about it, us talking about it, to now when he can actually meet some of our colleagues that he helped."

Shelton has been deeply involved with Oklahoma relief efforts, even spearheading the Healing in the Heartland benefit, which sold out in minutes.

Although the superstar can't erase what happened to the victims, he can help them have fun and let loose -- even if just for one night.

As Gomes says poignantly, "Sometimes you get so involved with the things that are going on, sometimes you just need to go out and have a little fun."
