Blake Shelton knew it was coming. It was only a matter of time. On Saturday night (March 12), during the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, the country singer and host teased the audience as they got slimed.

“You guys did an awesome job of controlling the show tonight. But it’s my turn to control the show,” Shelton told the crowd. “I’ve got one last surprise for you all: slime.”

After the audience was sprayed with green slime, it was Shelton's turn, and he seemed to enjoy every second. This year's KCAs show allowed kids at home the opportunity to choose what happened during the live show as they cast votes to determine which outrageous moment happened during the show. The four moments selected included Shelton and Norman pranking DNCE with toilet paper in their dressing room, Cameron Dallas getting super soaked in slime, Shelton donning a unicorn outfit and the stage environment changing to underwater.

In November, Shelton announced the news that he'd be hosting the Kids' Choice Awards after teasing fans for days on social media.

“My agent called and was like, ‘Is there anything you can think of that you want to do?'” he told Kathy and Hoda on Today. “And I was thinking, ‘I want to host those Kids’ Choice Awards. I want to do this thing with kids, it’s fun. I want to get slimed.'”

Added the country star, “I’ve been on countless stages throughout my life, but none have promised the madness, excitement and endless slime as Nick’s Kids’ Choice Awards, which is undoubtedly the ultimate party for kids.”
