Blake Shelton Pines, Johnny Cash Walks The Line – Today In Country Music History [VIDEO]

Blake Shelton pined about a lost love in 2008, Shania Twain was certified platinum in 1999 and Johnny Cash walked the line in 1956.

Here’s the list for Today In Country Music History for 21 July, 2011.

  • Brad Paisley, Charley Pride and Alison Krauss + Union Station performed for President Barack Obama at the White House in Washington, D.C. in 2009.
  • Blake Shelton‘s single “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” was released to radio in 2008.
  • Big & Rich‘s “Lost In This Moment” went to the top of the Billboard country chart in 2007.
  • Charley Pride received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999.
  • Shania Twain‘s longform video Shania Twain Live was certified platinum in 1999.
  • Anne Murray‘s “Shadows In The Moonlight” hit Number One on the Billboard country singles chart in 1979.
  • Michael Martin Murphey‘s single “Wildfire” was certified gold in 1975.
  • Jeanne Pruett joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1973. She was the last artist added to the cast before the show transfered from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium to the Grand Ole Opry House.
  • Johnny Cash‘s “I Walk the Line” went to Number One in 1956. It was his first record to top the charts.
  • Lefty Frizzell joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1951.
