Blake Shelton is rumored to be in the running to sing the national anthem at the upcoming 2015 Super Bowl in February.

According to Hollywood Life, the 38-year-old country star and coach of 'The Voice' has already been offered the opportunity to kick off the game.

“The Super Bowl organizers are looking to mix it up a little bit for the person to do the national anthem. They want a guy and they have asked Blake Shelton,” an unnamed source claims.

“He hasn’t responded to it yet but they are anticipating a yes and they want to make the announcement during an upcoming playoff game,” the source adds. “So they are looking to lock the performer in by the end of the week. But Blake is on the top of the list."

Super Bowl XLIX is set to take place Sunday, Feb. 1, featuring a halftime performance from pop superstar Katy Perry.
