A horse is a horse, of course. But when it goes swimming in the Pacific ocean, does it become a "Sea Horse"?

CNN is reporting that a horse that ran away from a photo shoot on a California beach swam more than two miles out into the Pacific ocean before officials came to its rescue. According to Harbor Patrol Officers in Santa Barbara, William -- a 7-year-old Arabian horse -- got spooked by the water.

Fire officials along with a search and rescue team found the horse swimming towards oil rigs more than two miles offshore. The rescuers hooked the horse's reins to a paddle boat hook while workers took turns holding William's head above the water as they headed back to land.

The horse was returned to its owner with no injuries.
