Like any great awards show, the 2011 American Country Awards were packed full with practically as many performances as awards handed out. Host Trace Adkins kicked off the show with a medley of his hits before his co-host Kristin Chenoweth challenged him to a sing-off, which was the highlight of the evening, despite being mostly a joke.

Additionally, Alabama, Chris Young, Pistol Annies, the Band Perry and Blake Shelton gave top notch performances, as did Eli Young Band, who made their awards show debut and Scotty McCreery, who told us all about ‘The Trouble With Girls.’ The 2011 American Country Awards are working to set themselves apart from other more typical awards show timelines — many of the artists performed their hit songs after snagging an award, and the event was set in Las Vegas, rather than country music’s home of Nashville.
